Serenity Lodge
Main House & Corp Office
Serenity Lodge, located in Groton, CT is the first recovery living center and
main office. Built
in 1750 as a road house for the weary travellers commuting from New York City to Boston, it is rumored that George Washington
may have slept here. Vince Guilfoil's brother Kenneth purchased the property in 1975 and lived and worked here until his retirement in 2002.
Kenneth Guilfoil, the benefactor of Serenity Lodge, is an honored Veteran of the United States Navy Submarine Service (1946-1966).
The donation of this house to Vince allowed him to fulfill his dream, and to give back what was freely given to him in
early recovery. Serenity Lodge is now home for 14 recovering men.
